Not only does obesity shorten your life, the toll it takes on your quality of life is even greater. If you have a BMI of 35 or above, you are at high risk for the chronic diseases that go along with obesity: cardiovascular disease and diabetes, among other debilitating conditions, severe wear and tear on your joints. Even a BMI of 30 is associated with increased risk and shortened lifespan. You can reduce your risk by increasing your physical activity and adopting a healthy pattern of eating on a regular basis.
